Day 1 at UTopYA Con 2015

Catching up with friends, some of whom I hadn’t seen since UTopYA last year, was the highlight for today.
The day began with a fantastic Keynote – given by Denise Grover Swank.  From her own personal tragedy her writing journey began.  A widow and mother of six children she reinvented herself and gave great advice to everyone on how to set and meet goals.
I stopped by and heard Heather Sunseri speak about “Do I have to win the publishing lottery to leave the job that is slowly sucking the life out of me?”  I’m not sure all the authors were ready to quit their jobs, but none of us wanted to become accountants when she was done! (Her previous career).
Expanding your Empire by Tammy Blackwell, Nikki Jefford, Carlyle Labuschagne and Cameo Renae was interesting where each shared advice on audiobooks and international sales.
I went to, “So You Wanna be a Book Blogger/Tuber,” because Jo Michaels, Chris Cannon, Maria Pease and Tammie Zimmerman were on the panel.  All four ladies are on my favorite bloggers list and I wanted to be in the audience to support them the way they have supported me.
We topped today off with dinner with Charles Young, Kelly May and Tammie Zimmerman.
